I had my fair share with some Haitian's restaurant, and I read a lot of reviews online nothing changes. To be honest I know we are good people from heart, but we can't do well in business as we want too. Let's start with the first one and I will explain to you in plain detail why I think Haitian must change the way they do business if they want to be successful.


1) Customer service is nonexistent


They do not value the customer that buy food from them, especially if they gave you the wrong food or something was not done right. If you call them or ask to speak to a manager expect them to hang up in your face without apologizing. They will put the blame on you for whatever thing or things you are complaining about. The employees always have internal problem so its normal for them to behave rudely and management do not care as long his food goes out to the customer. Big companies make customer service the main priority for employees to take care of, because they know customer is the king and queen it's their duties to serve them. That's why Haitian business suffer, and they will never succeed if they do not handle this case properly and some customer will be going out of their way to put you out of business.



2) Their Food is mediocre


I do not understand how your food mediocre and have the nerve acting like it's the best meal the client ever had in their life. The presentation of their food is average, some of them the food tastes like leftovers and from some reviews people even say they get cold food or spoiled patties. I love Haitian food and I know all my readers do too, I cannot tolerate bad food. Most restaurants do not care for the people who buy from them, most people will rather drive to a fast-food chain instead of dealing with the headache and they would not even able to enjoy the food. Sometime too much salt in the sauce or the side stuffs are too spicy. restaurant supposed to be the first to make health and sanitization a priority because food is fragile and human even more fragile.


3) Don't even bother calling to place your order



That happened often in Haitian restaurant, I mean all the time. The person who takes your order do not care to a level they do not even remember what you ordered. Seriously! If you do not speak you must avoid certain place because they will laugh at you and embarrass you. Most of the time I feel like they are laughing at their own ignorance. Even if you called your food is not ready, because they are busy serving people they know or like and make sure to have another 20 minutes to waste for stupidity. They let your food cold before they hand it to you, like they are doing you a favor by accepting your payment and serve you trash. As a Haitian I feel ashamed of the mediocre service our people provide to the community, they do not value their own people and no respect for their culture.



4) Haitian people never admit when they are wrong


Some Haitian people see arguing and blaming as a winning contest, a tool they use for their shady behavior. They take mistake really serious not for them to take corrective action but to hiding the truth. Let's say for example they gave you the wrong food or they put 2 pieces of meat in your plate, when you call them on that they will blame you. If you open an argument, they will hang up on your face or if you go back to the restaurant, they will ignore you.


5) Leftover food allowed to reheat and serve to customer


I hate to admit it but that's a reality check on google for reviews. Those people not concerning a bit about your health. All I am saying make sure you do your own diligence before buying food from certain restaurant. I wish Haitian people will improve in business and as human being entirely. The reason leftover food serves in restaurant is because the owner trying to save money, but that's poor excuses. There will be a time all Haitian restaurants will close down, and all the customers will live with the guilt of not eating fritay only in Haiti.
